Where and when is Moving the Needle 2020?
Bridging to Resilience will be November 12 – 13, 2020 at the Old Town Hotel Conference Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Who should attend the Moving the Needle conference?
Moving the Needle is for classroom teachers, administrators, students and parents, non-profit organizations, and caregivers – really anyone interested in improving education and preparing kids for their future. The goal is simple. Heal trauma and combat poverty. If you’re interested in finding and sharing ways to do that, then you’re in the right place.

Are there registration deadlines?
No. But we’ll have early bird registration deals online soon. Check back soon.

What if I register but later can’t make the conference? Can I get a refund?
We understand that plans change so there will be no penalty for cancellations received on or before the date 30 days prior to the first day of the conference. We’ll refund the full amount paid minus a $25 processing fee.

But we’re ordering food, making reservations . . . you get the idea. So we will have to charge a cancellation penalty of 50% of registration costs for any cancellations received between 29 to 10 days before the pre-conference. And we can’t issue any refunds for cancellations received less than 10 days before the first day of the conference. All cancellations must be sent in writing via fax, e-mail, or regular mail.

Can I pay with a purchase order or credit card?
Visit the Registration page for details but short answer, yes. We’re using PayPal to collect individual registration fees so you’re always able to use a credit card. We also accept arrangements with school districts to pay via a check. Is there a group discount?
Are you planning on bringing more than just a few people from your district or organization? We’ve got you covered. If you are planning on registering 20 or more participants, please contact us for a special group discount code.

Are there things to do after the day’s sessions are over?
Yes. The conference is in the Old Town section of Wichita with numerous restaurants and activities all within walking distance. There are also several shopping malls and movie theaters nearby.

I’m driving. Where do I park?
There’s tons of free parking options at the conference site.

Is lunch included in my registration fee?
We’re negotiating with the conference site to provide breakfast and lunch for participants. But we want to keep registration fees down so we’re not sure if we’ll be able to work out an arrangement with them that allows us a way to keep your cost as low as possible. If we can work something out, bonus! Check back as we get closer to November.

What about graduate credit?
You can earn one hour of graduate credit for $90 from Mid-America Nazarene University. Contact our office at 620-663-9566 or email us for more details.

If I am presenting at the conference, do I need to register for the conference?
Yes. Please remember that everyone who will be attending the conference needs to register. But presenters will be able to register using the registration code you received in your confirmation email.
